Africans must solve African problems

Published by thenabster

High death rates, high birth rates, low levels of literacy, low per capita income and unstable government’s, are some of Africa’s common and day to day problems. They have undergone and still undergo these problems even when Africa “claims” to be independent. Yes, I agree that people should always try to solve their problems before seeking further help when it’s beyond their reach… but it’s not the case with Africa. Three - fourths of Africa problems need intervention from the developed countries. This is because majority of their problems if traced back, will have something to do with colonialism or financial dependency on other countries… a thing they hardly ever consider. First or all, saying Africans should solve their own problems is not wise because Africans are still very dependent on other nations. You can’t tell you’re parents your independent and can take care of your own problems when you rely on them for help.

According to the text, another reason why Africa needs external support from other countries is because they are “poor countries and are structurally disadvantaged in the world economy, autonomy and prosperity they can achieve.” This thus leaves them at the mercy of the more developed countries

Finally, even though the text also states that “the solution is not to follow the same path as industrialized countries but to forge a complete independent non capitalistic path”, I strongly believe that Africa needs external support from the more developed countries so as to be able to achieve a majority of their own problems in a manner which is African like…that is if they still have any.
